Overview

My Consulting HQ is an expansion and an addition of service that Greenfield Group provides. Greenfield Group is a management consulting firm, working with clients to deliver solutions for their strategic transformation or support their operations through a variety of technology solutions.

My Consulting HQ is a web application that enables business professionals to enable interactive problem solving for business challenges.

 
 

Problem

Over 90% business professionals search for information online. Searching online is burdensome, the available amount of sources (books, service providers, trade associations, white papers, articles, videos, training... ). Additionally, the information business professionals review may not be specific to their unique problem.

| Buiness professionals have a little time, but there is so much information out there.

 
 

Solution

 

My Consulting HQ is a web application (currently MVP) that enables interactive problem solving to business challenges.

It’s built on a curated knowledge-base of business content aggregated from qualified sources. The platform provides several levels of diagnosis and solutions to individual situations.  

My Consulting HQ gives users the ideas and puts resources that are specific to users’ needs, at their fingertips.

Gained insights on how people manage or gather work-related information which led the product to present information specific to users’ needs and provide contents aggregated from qualified sources.

  • 92.6% obtain information by the internet search

  • 63% responded the internet search is time consuming

  • 37% think there are too many available sources

  • 96% think it would be convenient to have a source that is beneficial for work

Strategy

User Stories & Flows

To achieve goals for My Consulting HQ’s users, the following user stores and flows were put together. Onboarding for users to make their accounts to use the service and forgot username/password is for retrieving users’ credentials were two of the minimum tasks for the product. And, presenting problem was the main task for users to get the service they need.

 
 

Information Architecture

Wireframes

Based on user research, wireframes were made and tested to provide an experience, interactive and catered for users’ needs, for a journey to gather and find resources including articles, books, videos, and templates.

As an MVP, it was important to show how easy it is to sign up for the product, the process of catering for users’ needs, and finally the resources provided.

 
 

Brand & Identity

Branding & Logo

Logo

Focus of My Consulting HQ is to have users have easier time searching for information and find the right resources.

M, C, and little circle on the right represent not only the initial of the product but also to symbolize lens magnifying a letter.

Colors

Maroon, purple, and black are the colors represent My Consulting HQ.

  • Maroon is to empower users to gain confidence, passion, and courage as they find what they need.

  • Purple is to balance calm stability of blue and fierce energy of maroon or red.

  • Lastly, black represents strength and seriousness for users at their work places.

 
 

Visual Design

High Fidelity MVP

After rounds of user testing on wireframes and A/B testing of logo designs, a high fidelity MVP is put together. The MVP consists of its branding and the essential user flows to help business professionals to succeed in their field.

 
 

Conclusion

My Consulting HQ is a unique tool for business professionals. There are many scholar resources to find thesis and articles to write papers, however, there isn’t a product solely for business professionals to gain knowledge for self-development or perform better at their work.

My Consulting HQ envisions to have consulting opportunity to be more affordable and available as consulting has notion that it is expensive and more for large-sized companies. My wish is that My Consulting HQ will help business professionals to better themselves and continue to grow in their career.

If I had more time and resources, I wish I could improve the product as feedback starts to come in so the product could be more refined and polished. Building a design system for My Consulting HQ will help in the future as the product grows and matures.
